Plagiarism Screening

All submitted manuscripts are routinely screened for plagiarism and inappropriate text similarity as part of the editorial assessment process. The Journal may use appropriate plagiarism-detection or similarity-checking software to identify potential cases of plagiarism, excessive textual overlap, self-plagiarism, duplicate or redundant publication, unattributed reproduction, and inappropriate paraphrasing.

Similarity reports are not assessed solely on the basis of a predetermined numerical threshold. The editorial team evaluates the nature, extent, context, and source of identified similarities and determines whether further action is required.

All submitted manuscripts are screened for plagiarism and inappropriate text similarity using iThenticate , as part of the Journal’s editorial assessment process.
 

Scope of Ethical Concerns

The Journal considers the following practices to constitute potential forms of plagiarism or unethical publication practice:

• presenting another person's ideas, words, data, images, or other material without appropriate acknowledgment;
• substantial unattributed textual reproduction;
• inappropriate paraphrasing without proper citation;
• self-plagiarism or substantial reuse of an author's previously published material without appropriate disclosure or citation;
• duplicate or redundant publication;
• unauthorized reproduction or use of third-party material; and
• citation or publication practices intended to conceal the source or originality of the submitted work.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that their submissions are original and that all sources, quotations, adapted material, and third-party content are appropriately acknowledged and cited.
 

Editorial Action

Where plagiarism or another form of inappropriate textual overlap is identified, the Journal may request clarification or revision, reject the manuscript, suspend consideration, or take other appropriate editorial action depending on the seriousness and circumstances of the case.

If plagiarism or related misconduct is identified after publication, the Journal may take appropriate post-publication action, including issuing a correction, retraction, or Expression of Concern, in accordance with the Journal’s publication ethics policies.
 

Editorial Judgment

Similarity-detection software is used as a screening and decision-support tool. A similarity score alone does not establish plagiarism. Final decisions regarding suspected plagiarism or unethical text reuse are made by the editorial team based on the available evidence, relevant context, and applicable publication ethics standards.
