Instruction for authors
International Journal of Architecture & Urban Planning (IJAUP)
Submission of Manuscript
The language of the journal is English. Papers should deal with original research not previously published or being considered for publication elsewhere. The submitted paper should be accompanied by a list of 3 potential referees, with names, emails, telephone and fax numbers, and addresses.

Types of Articles

Article will be published in the following categories:

1- Research Papers: A full paper must be subdivided into sections e.g. Introduction, Experimental Procedure, Results, Discussion and Conclusion. The research papers including tables and figures should be limited to 26 pages.
2-Review Papers:

Manuscript Organization
The text should be written in English, clearly typed (font size 11 points) on one side of A4 paper and double-spaced throughout with at least 2.5 cm margins. All the pages should be consecutively numbered.

Title page: In addition to a brief, descriptive, concise title of the Article (capital letters); the full name of the author(s), academic or professional affiliation and addresses should be included on the title page. The name and complete addresses including Telephone number, Fax number and E-mail address of the person to whom all correspondence to be send must be given on the title page. This page should not be numbered.

Main Text:
Headings: The manuscript should be divided into Introduction, Materials and Methods. Results, Discussion, Conclusions, Acknowledgments, References, Tables, Figures and Figures legend. The introduction and conclusions are compulsory. Their headings should have numbers and they can include sub-division with relevant numbers.

Abstract and Keywords: Page 1 should include only paper title, abstract and keywords. Abstract is a concise summary of the whole paper and should briefly state the objective and approach and give the summary of results and conclusions drawn in one paragraph. The list of 3-6 keywords must be given. The abstract should be between 200-250 words

Tables: Tables should be typed double-spaced on a separate sheet and numbered consecutively with Arabic numerals. A short descriptive caption should be given above each table and may have any footnotes and explanations underneath.

Figures: Figures should be numbered consecutively. All the illustrations (photos, diagrams, schematics) must be submitted in separate sheets and files suitable for reproduction. The image resolutions should not be less than 300 dpi. Please avoid any shading . Don't embed pictures in the text. Each graph should separately be prepared in Microsoft Excel program.

References:
The journal reference method has been changed to APA since the beginning of 2021.
APA style requires both in-text citations and a reference list.
The APA in text reference is in the format (author, date). When directly quoting from a text you must include a page number in the citation as given in the examples below. Including page numbers in all other circumstances is not required however, it is best practice to do so when referring to part of a work (e.g. a paragraph or chapter in a book). When referring to an entire work that covers a single topic (e.g. a journal article) it is not required.

Referencing an idea
  • Anxiety and depression have been identified as more commonly in children and adolescents with long-term physical conditions (Dantzer, 2003; Pinquart & Shen, 2011).
OR
  • Dantzer (2003), Pinquart and Shen (2011) all state that anxiety and depression has been identified as more commonly in children and adolescents with long-term physical conditions.
Referencing a quotation
  • Indeed, one researcher commented that “technological innovations have saved or extended the lives of many patients” (Lumby, 2001, p. 44).
Citing a source within a source
Where your source quotes or refers to another source, for example Unsworth refers to previous work by Halliday on linguistics, the citation might read thus:
  • (Halliday, as cited in Unsworth, 2004, p. 15)
Only Unsworth will appear in the Reference list at the end of your assignment
Reference List
Your reference list should be ordered alphabetically by author and then chronologically by year of publication. The APA 6th style requires the references to be indented as illustrated below in the examples.
For instances of multiple articles with the same authors and years of publication, please check the APA publication manual or Academic Writer. If you have the DOI for the journal article, you should include it in the reference, otherwise, it is not necessary.

Copyright Transfer Agreement: Upon submitting of an article by the authors, they should fill in the authorization form of the article to the publisher on behalf of any and all co-authors, and must warrant that they are aware of and in agreement with all the contents of the article and consent to their names appearing on it.
