چکیده:
Any scientific activity or instrumental application of façade, including, research, design, evaluation, and decision-making requires a comprehensive set of facade-related criteria to cover all requirements it is expected to meet. This point clarifies the need for a study to explore, gather, and organize a holistic set of criteria for evaluation, study, design, and decision-making regarding façade. Moreover, although setting up a comprehensive list of criteria is essential, that is not enough. On top of that, a mutual understanding of criteria is needed to offer the experts or researchers the same understanding and language when it comes to the facade. While many criteria have been mentioned in different façade related research, a summary study to gather, organize, and reliably define these criteria is a necessity to improve the logic of applications of façade and obtain a mutual understanding. This study tries to take the first step to meet this requirement and describe each criterion that may be raised when assessing the façade. In this regard, this study has done systematic library-based research among references and picked 71 related papers as a resource. Then, the criteria were extracted via an exploratory study based on open and axial coding methods. Finally, 42 criteria were found and organized into five primary categories, namely, environmental aspects, social impacts, economic aspects, efficiency and effectiveness, and technical aspects.
